Privacy policy
This policy covers the Holiday Dinner Planner website (holidaydinnerplanner.com) and the Holiday Dinner Planner iPhone app.
The short version
We don't collect personal information. There are no accounts, no advertising and no analytics on the website or in the app. Your dinners stay on your device.
The website
- The planner runs in your browser. The menus, times and kitchen details you enter are used to calculate your timeline on your device and aren't sent to us.
- Saved in your browser. Your last plan on each page is kept in your browser's local storage so it's there when you return. Clear your browser's site data to remove it. If you hide the app bar on a phone, that choice is kept in session storage until you close the tab.
- Share links. “Copy link to this plan” puts the plan in the part of the link after the #, which browsers don't send to the website. Anyone you give the link to can see the plan.
- No cookies, analytics or ads. The website sets no cookies and loads no third-party trackers, advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts are served from this website, not from a font service.
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives standard request information — such as IP address, browser type and the page requested — to deliver the site and protect it, and may keep it in server logs for a limited time. We don't use that information to identify or track visitors.
The iPhone app
- What is stored. Dinner names, occasions, times, dishes, who is bringing each dish, kitchen setup, notes and your progress through a timeline are saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. They're included in your normal iPhone backups, which are controlled by you and Apple.
- Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is sent to us or any other service to deliver them.
- Purchases. The optional Pro unlock is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app only checks with the App Store whether Pro has been purchased.
- Third parties. The app contains no third-party software development kits, trackers or analytics. It doesn't share data with anyone.
- Deleting your data. Delete a dinner from within the app, or delete the app to remove everything it stored.
Children
The website and the app don't collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. We won't start collecting personal data without asking you first.
