Friendsgiving: the Saturday before Thanksgiving is Saturday, November 21, 2026
Friendsgiving planner
Everyone's bringing something. Add who's bringing what, when they'll arrive and whether it needs the oven, and get one schedule for the turkey, the reheats and everything you're making.
Dishes that arrive ready to serve take no oven space. Dishes that need reheating are fitted into your oven or stove after they arrive — never before.

The app knows who's bringing what. If a guest is running late, tell it: only their arrival and the steps that depend on it move.
- A reminder for every step. Preheat, in, out, rest — each one arrives on time, even with the phone locked.
- Cook Mode. The next step in huge type you can read across the kitchen. The screen stays awake.
- Running late? It replans. Tell it the turkey needs 15 more minutes. Only the steps that depend on it move.

How guest dishes fit into the host's oven
Here's a six o'clock Friendsgiving. The host roasts the turkey and makes stuffing, sweet potatoes, gravy and rolls. Sarah brings mashed potatoes at 3:15 that need 20 minutes to reheat; Jamal brings a green bean casserole at 3:30 that needs 25; Priya brings cranberry sauce ready to serve.
The mashed potatoes and casserole arrive while the turkey fills the oven, so they wait — covered, in the refrigerator if it's more than a short while. When the turkey comes out at 4:55 PM, the oven goes to 350°F: the stuffing and sweet potatoes go in, then Jamal's casserole at 5:15 PM and Sarah's potatoes at 5:20 PM, so everything comes out hot together. The rolls get the last 15 minutes at 375°F.

Setting up a guest dish in the planner
- Tap a dish (or add one) and choose Someone's bringing it.
- Add who's bringing it and, if you know it, when they'll arrive.
- Say what it needs when it arrives: Reheat, Keep warm, Finish cooking or Final touches — or switch on Ready to serve when it arrives.
- For reheats, choose the oven or stovetop, the temperature and how long it takes.
Without an arrival time, the timeline shows when the dish is needed, so you can tell your guest. If a guest arrives too late for their dish to be ready, it's shown as late rather than quietly moving everyone else's food.
Keep what guests bring safe
Perishable dishes shouldn't sit out of the refrigerator for more than 2 hours (1 hour above 90°F). Keep hot food at 140°F or above, and reheat leftovers and casseroles to 165°F. More on timing reheats in reheating side dishes.
Questions people ask
How do I plan a Friendsgiving potluck?
Decide who brings which dish, then agree arrival times and what each dish needs when it arrives. Add those to the planner alongside your own dishes and it schedules the reheats around your turkey.
When is Friendsgiving?
Any time around Thanksgiving; many groups pick the weekend before. The planner suggests the Saturday before Thanksgiving at 6 PM, which you can change.
What should guests bring ready to serve?
Dishes served cold or at room temperature — salads, cranberry sauce, pies — take no oven space. Anything that needs reheating needs an oven or burner slot, so fewer of those makes the host's timeline easier.
